Applications:
RW Rapid Set-L is widely used in dock construction, bridges, tunnels, precast component factories, and various concrete placement projects.
Benefits:
– Maximized formwork reuse and accelerated formwork removal.
– Reduced labor requirements.
– Shorter curing time and minimized cold-weather protection needs.
– Faster utilization of concrete structures.
Dosage:
1–3% by weight of cement, depending on the required setting acceleration.
Application Method:
Add RW Rapid Set-L to ready-mix concrete during pouring. Mix for 3 minutes to ensure homogeneity before placement. Preliminary tests must be conducted to monitor setting time and 24-hour strength parameters. The setting process occurs in two stages:
a) Hydration degree increases to ~30% within the first 6 hours.
b) Slower development during the final setting phase.
24-Hour Strength Evaluation:
| Initial Setting | Final Setting | 24-Hour Strength (MPa) | Classification |
|—————–|—————–|————————-|—————-|
| 2 minutes | 6–8 minutes | 18–20 | Excellent |
| 5 minutes | 8–12 minutes | 12–15 | Acceptable |
| >10 minutes | >15 minutes | <10 | Poor |
